is a minority owned small business based in Howard County, Maryland established in 2018. Our leadership formed the company with a vision of bridging the gap between IT Security and IT Operations to deliver more effective, efficient, and secure IT solutions while reducing the risk of business operations in the cyber domain.
About The Owner
As the founder and CEO of Empyrean Cyber Solutions (ECS), Duane is dedicated to building a cyber technology and management firm focused on people first and delivering secure solutions that meet the needs of our customers. He brings over 20 years of experience providing information assurance and cyber security technical expertise to various federal government agencies, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. Prior to forming ECS, he served as the Vice President of Cyber and Information Assurance in another small business where he captured and managed a business portfolio that consisted of three (3) prime contracts and eight (8) subcontracts. His leadership style of putting people first and his continuous pursuit of excellence has earned him multiple awards throughout his career, most notably the Modern Day Technology Leader Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA). Duane earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in Telecommunications and Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Master’s in Information and Telecommunication Systems Management from Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business. Most importantly, he believes serving others is a key to success and enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience to help others grow and achieve their goals.

Our Mission is to deliver technology solutions that allow our customers to perform critical business functions within the cyber domain while protecting their information assets from persistent cyber threats.
